Susan

My family and I moved to Clarksville in 1992 when my husband, David, ended his service with the US Army. Some friends from my husband’s work invited us to FBCSB. As we heard God’s Word preached here, I was confronted with the knowledge that I did not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  I thought I had made a decision for Christ when I was a child and was baptized. However, my adult life showed no evidence that I had a real relationship with Jesus. Oh, I was doing all the “religious” things, but I did not know Him. I came to a crossroads where I had to either choose Jesus or choose to continue a life consumed by sin and self. On April 12, 1993 just nine days shy of my 33rd birthday, I put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and my life has never been the same. My number one passion is telling people about my Jesus and how He can give them a new life and a new heart. His Word is my lifeline, and talking to Him about everything is my great privilege.

On July 13, 1993 I started working in the church office as a part-time secretary which soon led to becoming the full-time Office Manager. I was called in to full-time ministry at FBCSB in 2005 as the Director of Administration and Education.

David and I have been married 30+ years, and have embraced living the empty-nester life! We enjoy driving country back roads looking for non-chain restaurants, live music of almost all genres, and are happiest when we get to spend time with our friends and family and when we serve our church. Our only child, Justin, and his wife, Beth, live in Memphis, TN.

I will never get over the grace and goodness of my God for leading us to FBCSB and for inviting me into the wonderful adventure of a relationship with Him! One of my favorite Bible verses for this season of my life is Isaiah 46:4 (NLT) – “I will be your God throughout your lifetime – until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”
