Kristy
My husband, Clay, and I have been married for over 18 years (together 26!) and we have two boys. We moved to Clarksville right after we got married in 2005. My brother and his family invited us to FBCSB and we have been here since then. I was fortunate to grow up in church. My father passed away when I was 14. It was such a hard time for our family. A few months later I was able to attend YEC and decided then to live my life for Christ.
Since then, Christ has been with me through all the valleys and on all the mountaintops. In 2006 I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. It was definitely a scary time, but I never felt alone. With Christ and my family with me, I was able to fight it…and beat it!
While at FBCSB it has been such a joy to be able to serve. I have taught Sunday school for preschoolers, children, and students. I have been a leader in both AMPED and AWANA. I have taught in VBS 16 times. There is nothing quite like seeing a child eager to learn God’s word and watching them grow in their walk with Him. Matthew 19:14 says, “But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” I am so thankful to attend a church where children are taught from the beginning that they matter to God and they matter to us. Children are never too young to learn about the love of Jesus. I am so excited to start working alongside my church family to continue in the mission of guiding children into a growing relationship with Christ.
